Italy’s cultural heritage is deeply rooted in its history, traditions, cuisine, and daily life. Our Culture Courses are designed to immerse students in the richness of Italian and Mediterranean civilization through both academic study and experiential learning.
The Italian Culture course explores the historical, social, and artistic foundations of Italy. Students examine key cultural movements, traditions, and regional identities that have shaped the nation’s development. Through guided discussion and contextual study, they gain a broader understanding of Italy’s role within the Mediterranean and European landscape.
The Mediterranean Cuisine course offers hands-on instruction in preparing traditional Italian and Mediterranean dishes. Each week, students learn a new recipe while developing practical culinary skills and familiarity with regional ingredients and techniques. This experiential approach allows students to engage directly with one of the most defining aspects of Mediterranean culture: food and hospitality.
Together, these courses provide students with both theoretical insight and practical experience, fostering a well-rounded understanding of Italy’s cultural identity.
NOTE: All course credits are in quarter hours. Three quarter hours equal one semester hour.
We offer our students the opportunity to learn about the beauty and uniqueness of the Italian culture through full immersion therein, through the courses offered.
