Tuesday, June 10, 2025, the inaugural ceremony of the Level I Master’s in Cultural Mediation and Social Management (MeCSoMan) took place at the Adventist University Institute of Florence, promoted by the University of Salerno in collaboration with the Adventist University Institute “Villa Aurora”.
An academic initiative that aims to train professionals capable of operating in intercultural and interreligious contexts, competently addressing the challenges of contemporary times.
The meeting was opened by Davide Romano, director of the Adventist University Institute, who emphasized the value of education that combines theoretical knowledge and social responsibility. Following this, Gianfranco Macrì, director of the Department of Political Sciences and Communication (DISPC) at the University of Salerno, highlighted the synergy between the two institutions and the role of the master’s program in the national academic landscape. Luca Castagna, director of the Master MeCSoMan, illustrated in detail the structure, objectives and career prospects of the educational program.
The culminating point of the event was the lectio magistralis by Prof. Enzo Pace, one of the most authoritative sociologists of religions in Italy, who addressed the theme “The management of cultural heritage in the Euro-Mediterranean space”. A presentation that offered critical and stimulating insights on one of the most urgent themes of our time.
With the official launch of the Master MeCSoMan, a new space for education and reflection opens for those who intend to contribute, with professionalism and awareness, to building more inclusive and dialoguing societies.
